I previously wrote a post about Oh My Girl's Seunghee and her marvelous performance of "Cheer Up", but that performance isn't the only good thing to come out of JTBC's singing program "Girl Spirit". Below you'll find some of my favorite performances of the first season (won by Spica's Bohyung) and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
One word: chills.
Both of them are just fantastic performers.
Two vocal powerhouses and sexy Lovelyz, yes please!
The tears are flowing.
This performance hits me right in the heart.

Video of the Week #31
Oh My Girl's Seunghee - Cheer Up (Twice Cover)
On JTBC's new program "Girl Spirit", in which lesser known girl groups vocalists get to perform and compete for a chance to release a single, has so far produced some pretty impressive performance. One of my favorite contenders is Oh My Girl's Seunghee, who already during the first episode did a brilliant cover of SHINee's "Dream Girl", and her recent cover of Twice's "Cheer Up" is nothing less but fantastic. I've had this on repeat like a maniac and I think I might even like it better than the original. The arrangement is great, the vocals are on point and her stage presence and charisma is oozing.

Video(s) of the Week #29
Beast - "Ribbon" (Tipsy Version)
I live for all these semi-drunk performances that Dingo Music are putting out recently, and this one with the boys of Beast singing their newest track "Ribbon" is really funny to watch. It's also quite impressing how stable they are and how good they sound even when consuming alcohol.
PS: I also wanted to post their recent performances on Sketchbook, which were amazing as usual, but they videos couldn't be embedded so I'll just leave the links here and here instead. Enjoy!

Video of the Week #25
Infinite's Myungsoo a.k.a L on "King of Masked Singer"
Arguably one of the best looking men in Korea, Infinite's very own Myungsoo, makes an appearance on "King of Masked Singer" disguised as Darth Vader and blows everyone away when it's revealed that yes, he can actually sing. With a song well within his range and comfort zone he proves that he's indeed more than just a pretty face. As you can imagine I was swelling with pride when I watched this. You go baby boy!

Video of the Week #24
Nam Woohyun - Last Promise (cover)
I was actually going to post this last week but it hadn't been uploaded onto KBS' international Youtube channel so I had to wait, but here it is better late then ever! Eternal darling Woohyun made an anticipated appearance on "Immortal Song 2", several years after his last stunt on the show, and he blew everyone out of the water this this magnificent cover. I was in shock at how good this emotional performance was and so was the audience, as his score came out to be the highest ever scored by an idol on the show. Well done, babe.

Song of the Week #50
Song Mino - Fear (Ft. Taeyang) on Show Me The Money 4
As you may or may not know (most probably the former), Winner's very own Mino was a contestant on the fourth season of Show Me The Money. I did not follow the show because it's messy and embarrassing, so it was by accident I came across this performance from the semi-finals. "Fear" is one of the best song's I've heard all year, period. This is rap done right, as it's both emotionally evoking and incredibly heartfelt, and Minho pours his heart out in this performance. This has been on repeat ever since I heard it. Amazing.

Thus Begins The Third And Final Season of "Hormones"

How I have been waiting for this day to arrive. This saturday the first episode of the the third season of "Hormones" aired in Thailand, and finally we get to meet all the new characters of this wonderful show's last ever season. I don't know for what reason they've decided to call it the quits but I'm happy we at least get one last chance to join the teenagers of the fictional Nadao Bangkok Collage.

Bangtan Won! TWICE!
My babies. My sweet baby angels. On Tuesday this week they won on "The Show" and today they won on "M! Countdown", and I'm over the moon. Not that I didn't think this day would come, but I also didn't want to get my hopes up since it's seriously hard for rookie groups to win #1 these days. Anyhow, I couldn't be happier for them because they deserve it so much. I honestly think they're one of the most talented groups out there but they work so hard and are so dedicated to their music and their fans. The fact that their promotion single "I Need U" also happens to be one of my favorites of theirs makes their win even more enjoyable and exciting.
Although they still haven't won on any of the major channel music shows I'm hoping they might win again this weekend, but if not it's still an amazing feat considering the huge competition right now (EXID, Big Bang among others). May these two be the first few of many more to come.
CONGRATULATIONS BOYS!

Korea's Next Top Model Cycle 5: Episode 1-3 Recap
For the fifth cycle of the show subtitles have been provided by Yubisubs, which I'm very thankful for as this particular season is the first one to feature male models as well. I'm always out on the look for more eye-candy, so this was a perfect opportunity both to watch my favorite show format and drool over hot Korean guys all at the same time.

JTBC's "Crime Scene" - My New Favorite Variety Show

By accident, as it seems being the way I end up finding all sorts of new things, I stumbled upon an episode of cable channel JTBC's reality variety show "Crime Scene". I had never heard of the show prior, and it's not so strange considering it is not on one of South Korea's major broadcasting channels. However, the series is highly addictive and also allows the viewer to engage on a more personal level. As season 1 has just ended, I am already anticipating another exciting season with plenty of thrilling cases and entertaining guests.

Hormones- The Ups ans Downs of Teenage Life
I suddenly had this sort of epiphany and I remembered this wonderful series I watched last year, and I just needed to write a post about it.
Hormones is a Thai series, in fact, and therefore it has nothing to do with Korea or Korean entertainment but it doesn't really matter because this is my blog and I decide what goes on it. It's still Asian though, so I guess there's some relevancy.
I have never watched a Thai series before, actually I've never experienced anything within the Thai entertainment industry prior to this, so I can't really make any assumptions about how the culture or industry is different from the Korean one. However, I can tell you that this TV-series is something different, something way out of the ordinary. This series has not only been revolutionary in the Thai TV-industry, but it has also made people react, both in positive and negative ways.

EXO's Showtime Ep 8-9 - The Progress
After over 2 months of airing, EXO's first variety show EXO's Showtime is slowly coming to an end. I have watched almost all the episodes, except the earliest ones because those were really slow and non-eventful, and have decided to do a recap/review of two of my favorites so far; episodes 8 and 9.
Why on earth do I even watch this, you may ask, and that is a perfectly qualified question considering my general opinion of the group. I guess I just wanted to give them a chance to win me over, because not stanning EXO has become quite boring, in a way. I feel like I should just jump on the bandwagon too because how nice wouldn't it be to have a favorite group that's always winning something?

A 2013 "Running Man" Review
Anyone who knows me should know about my love for the variety show Running Man, a variety show that features one of the best casts ever as the tackle missions and race each other to win the prize of the day. The show has been going since 2010, and there are many factors as to why it's so great.
In 2013, however, there has been a drastic drop in ratings. I will try to review 2013's best and worst moments whilst trying to figure out what went wrong.

KBS' "1 Night 2 Days" Hopes For A Brand New Start With 3rd Season
The once very popular variety show 1 Night 2 Days, or 1n2d, premiered in 2007 with a line up consisting of host Kang Ho Dong, comedian Lee Soo Geun, singer Kim Jong Min, former idol Eun Ji Won, entertainer Noh Hong Chul and actor Ji Sang Ryul. The cast lineup changed throughout the very first season (which lasted all the way to the beginning of 2012) and the most notable being the swapping of the last two mentioned for singer and actor Lee Seung Gi and hip hop artist MC Mong, as well as the early addition of singer Kim C.
The format of the show is reality-variety based, and takes place during the course of two days and one night in which the cast travels in Korea and are given missions and tasks to perform. It can sound quite basic, but with a great PD in Na Young Seok and a cast with amazing chemistry, it worked phenomenally well and viewer ratings had an average high of 27,8% over the first three years.
