What I've Missed - August & September

Hi guys...long time no see, right? University life has been off to an incredibly busy start since in Sweden we don't have a orientation week, we have several orientation weeks. I've been settling into my new home, getting into a good studying rhythm and attended countless parties and other activities surrounding school and my new classmates. Everything has been fantastic and I'm loving every minute, so much that I've had to put this blog aside for the month of September. Now I intend to make a comeback, I guess, but I don't think I will be posting as frequently nor will I be making posts that are as long and intricate as the ones you're used to seeing. I want to keep this blog alive somehow because I  love to rant about all things K-pop, but I will have to cut down in some ways because there are only 24 hours in a day.

Anyhow, here's a fun little post about the stuff that was released in September and how I've been enjoying all the comebacks as of recent.

Glorious Photoshoots - August

I realize now that this post is kind of late, again, but as you've noticed with my sudden lack of posting I've been incredibly busy now that school has started again. I'm currently attending my first year in university and my schedule has been packed from morning to evening basically every day since it started, so that's the reason for my absence. It will probably continue in that matter for a couple of more weeks, so please be understanding and anticipate my eventual comeback!

Anyhow, starting this post off is two of my favorite Got7 boys, Youngjae and Jinyoung, for Sure.

Infinite's Myungsoo a.k.a L on "King of Masked Singer"


Arguably one of the best looking men in Korea, Infinite's very own Myungsoo, makes an appearance on "King of Masked Singer" disguised as Darth Vader and blows everyone away when it's revealed that yes, he can actually sing. With a song well within his range and comfort zone he proves that he's indeed more than just a pretty face. As you can imagine I was swelling with pride when I watched this. You go baby boy!

Allow Me To Celebrate: Nam Woohyun Is No Longer Blonde

With maknae Sungjong returning from the jungle (he took part in variety show "Law of the Jungle") the boys of Infinite just had their encore concert Infinite Effect Advance earlier today in South Korea. While attending the press conference there was something that wasn't quite right, something that felt different, and what was noticed was that there was no longer a bright blonde head among the boys. You heard it, Woohyun himself, a.k.a everyone's favorite Namu, is no longer blonde. I would like to have a moment of silence for all those who've suffered through this long period of bleach and dark roots, me being one of those people.

That time is over now, as Woohyun has gone back to the color that suits him the best; dark hair, or black in this particular case. May it remain this way for a long time. I also would like to congratulate the boys on their concert and can't wait for the fancams. Infinite jjang!

This song I've always found to be underrated when it comes to Infinite's discography, and almost forgotten as well as of recently. Sure, it isn't as grand or dramatic as their other title tracks but it's really good song and this music video is a really creative piece as well.

Infinite - Love Of My Life


I tend not to listen as much to idol groups' Japanese music as much, despite them being my bias (SHINee's Japanese stuff for example is for the most part horrid), but I came across this song of off Infinite's newest Japanese album on my Tumblr feed a while ago and decided to give it a go. I cannot explain with words how this song made me feel inside, as it brought all kinds of emotions up to the surface, and if there's still anyone out there claiming this isn't a vocal group I would show them this and leave them just as speechless I was. Oh my goodness do they sound good; no not good, perfect. If you haven't listened to it yet you're seriously missing out on some rock-ballad brilliance with some of the best vocal work I've seen from this group.

SNS Friday #14 - SMA, ISAC, GDA & More!

The gorgeous ladies of Sistar are all smiles (and kisses) backstage at SMA earlier this week, and what a busy week it has been. Not only has it been filled with different award shows but the recording of the annual program everyone loves to hate (or is the other way around?) ISAC, so many of the photos from this week will be from one of those occasions. But of course there are some ordinary, yet lovely, selcas and pictures of your favorite idols this week as well.

Top 10 Best Comebacks of 2015

You might ask; what makes a good comeback?, and I don't think there's one correct answer for that question. Generally when a group or soloist makes a comeback there are a few things that factor in, like the title track and MV as well as the eventual mini or full album, but aspects like the concept, styling and originality also matter to a certain point. I tend to weigh in all those things, but at the end of the day the feeling a comeback gives you might be the most important thing. Below you will find the comebacks of 2015 that left the most impact on me personally, and the ones I thought had the most solid components.

2015 Year-End Festivals - Favorite Performances

It's my favorite time of the year; the annual year-end festivals! This time I even managed to catch two of them live (KBS' and MBC's) which never has happened before, and I was quite happy with the former and even more ecstatic about the latter. I never got the chance to watch SBS' on the 27th, but from what I've heard it was horrible so I'm not planning on either. Therefore there won't be as many performances included from that festival here, but even more from the two better festivals. MBC had the best one by far (and theirs have been my favorite for three consecutive years now), both in terms of staging, camera work as well as a good blend of special stages, regular stages and pre-recordings. Although it was long it managed to keep my interest up!

Top 10 Albums of 2015

This is what I've been waiting all year for; the "Best of" series! I'm going to kick it off with best album but unlike what I said I would do last year I will not be separating the albums into full and mini, because, well, there wasn't enough full albums that I liked. However there will be some restrictions for this list. For it to be counted as a mini album it has to contain at least four songs, excluding an eventual intro, because there were some that I liked but were a bit too short to be counted as a mini album to me. This will be in no particular order because it would be too hard, but here it is; my favorite albums of 2015!

TBT - Infinite's "Be Mine"

Almost four and a half years ago Infinite released "Be Mine", and I don't think any of them knew what was about to happen afterwards. The main single of off their first full length album "Over The Top" turned them into a high profile group in South Korea, and won them their ever first music show award among many others. I personally love this song as it think it definitely embodies Infinite's signature sound, and the video along with the choreography are both amazing as well.

Infinite's "Bad" Is Quite The Opposite Of That

My babies have come back to slay the scene, finally! How I have waited. After a couple of underwhelming releases ("Man In Love", "Destinty" and "Bad Romeo" in particular) I thought that maybe Infinite was loosing their spark and that their 2012 success with my all-time favorite "The Chaser" was in fact their peak. That might still be true, but when they came back with "Back" last year I saw a new side of this group that gave me hope. Producer Rphabet is once again the genius behind their new title track "Bad", and I have to say that these two acts working together seems to result only in awesomeness.
