TBT - Rainbow's "To Me"

Released: April 8th, 2011

Earlier this week we were met with the disheartening news of the disbandment of Rainbow, who decided to part ways after seven years together. This group has always had a special place in my heart and the fact that they're separating is as heartbreaking as it is expected. It makes me happy however to know that they ended it on good terms and I do wish all of the members the best of luck in the future. To honor their memory I've chosen the single "To Me" which is one of my favorite Rainbow songs, and also one that shows this group at the very peak of their career.

You will be missed, ladies.

TBT - Infinite's "Nothing's Over"

Released: March 16, 2011

This song I've always found to be underrated when it comes to Infinite's discography, and almost forgotten as well as of recently. Sure, it isn't as grand or dramatic as their other title tracks but it's really good song and this music video is a really creative piece as well.

(A Late) TBT - After School's "Shampoo"

Released: April 27th, 2011

After School's leader (and last remaining original member) Jungah announced yesterday that she was graduating from the group, a.k.a leaving. Her contract had expired and she decided not to renew, and while I can totally understand why it doesn't make it less sad. I have know idea what Pledis are doing right now because it seems they've completely given up on the group, as they have not had a comeback in almost three years. I do feel a disbandment coming up which sucks because I love this group and their discography, but hopefully Orange Caramel will still be around at least. Anyway, here is one of my favorite After School songs and videos, and I can assure you there will be more of their hits in the future.

TBT - A Pink's "Hush"

Released: May 8, 2012

I realize now that it's been an awfully long time since I've done one of these...sorry! Believe it or not, "Hush" was actually my first encounter with A Pink, and I remember really liking the song and thinking they were all super pretty; and looked completely identical too. This is also their last comeback with former member Yookyung (yeah, I barely remember her either) and the one leading up to their smash hit "No No No".

TBT - EXO's "Miracles In December"

Released: December 4, 2013

I know this isn't the best kind of throwback considering this song is only years old, but to me it feels just like yesterday when I first heard EXO's single of off their Christmas album. As you know I'm not an EXO stan, sure I like some of their songs and their first album "XOXO" still remains one of my all time favorites, but I'm not into them in that kind of way. However this song just blows my mind every time I listen to it; this is a ballad done right.

TBT - Brown Eyed Girls' "Sixth Sense"

Released: September 22, 2011

This song. This video. This everything. After their massive hit "Abracadabra" this was their next big single, and boy does "Sixth Sense" go hard. This groups has always been unapologetically fierce and sexy, and the concept they had for this 2011 comeback might be my favorite one of theirs, after "Abracadabra" of course. I love everything about this release; the song is amazing and bad-ass and the video is fantastic. If only more girl groups released stuff like this.

TBT - Infinite's "Be Mine"

Almost four and a half years ago Infinite released "Be Mine", and I don't think any of them knew what was about to happen afterwards. The main single of off their first full length album "Over The Top" turned them into a high profile group in South Korea, and won them their ever first music show award among many others. I personally love this song as it think it definitely embodies Infinite's signature sound, and the video along with the choreography are both amazing as well.

TBT - Orange Caramel's "Lipstick"

Released: September 11, 2012

Oh my goodness this video, this freaking song, this everything! When I got into K-pop in 2012 and this comeback happened I was more hooked than I'd ever been on anything before. Fine, maybe that's a slight exaggeration but "Lipstick" is amazing on so many levels and this video is honestly iconic. Also I really, really miss Orange Caramel (and After School in general) so a comeback soon would be nice. Please Pledis, please?

TBT - CNBlue's "Loner"

Released: September 27, 2010

It's been over ten years and this song still manages to blow my socks off. Although this band has created a lot of great songs since "Loner" still remains one of CNBlue's absolute best tracks. It's just incredibly catchy, and the "wettoriya, wettoriya" I know was sung and parodied in all kinds of was on shows back then. It wasn't really a big shock they won their first music show award only 15 days after their debut.

TBT - Exid's "I Feel Good"

Released: August 14, 2012

I didn't even hear this song until way after it was released, probably around the time Exid started getting famous last year, and I couldn't believe how good it was. I still find it Superior to both "Up & Down" and "Ah Yeah", and I think it's strange it didn't get more attention when it came out. Although 2012 was one the busiest years in K-pop ever so maybe it's not so odd it got lost among all the other releases. Still an amazing song though!

TBT - Ailee's "Heaven"

Released: February 8, 2012

It's a shame Ailee's debut song still is her best one, but that's definitely the case here. "Heaven" is a beautiful song and suits her, I think, so much better than this "powerful, diva Beyonce-wannabe" concept she's been going for and still is doing. Here her voice is allowed to sound gorgeous without overdoing it and forcefully pushing notes. I really like this softer, more vulnerable side of her and it's disappointing that none of her title tracks since have been ever to live up to her debut track.

TBT - Kara's "Rock U"

Released: July 25, 2008

This was the very first Kara single featuring Hara and Jiyoung, who were added to the group as original member Sunghee had left to study, and this addition truly did wonders for them. I suppose it helped that they switched concepts as well, as "Rock U" wasn't too similar to their debut songs. You can say whatever you want about the MV, and I think it's kind of cute although a bit alarmingly childish, but the song is so catchy. I can't help but shamelessly love it.

TBT - Rainbow's "A"

Released: March 5, 2011

I'm honestly still bitter that this was, and still is, the main highlight of Rainbow's career. When "A" was released it was actually, as I've understood, quite popular in South Korea, and rightfully so. It's one of my favorite songs of theirs and favorite K-pop songs in general, and I remember being mesmerized by it when I first watched the video. Imagine what position they would have been in right now had DSP not been terrible at managing them. It's painful, really.

TBT - Song Jieun's "Going Crazy" Ft. Bang Yongguk (1 Day Late, I Know!)

Released: March 2, 2011

When I first got into K-pop a little over three years ago I adored this song. I don't know just how I came across it and I didn't know who any of these people were at the time, but "Going Crazy" was put on repeat for weeks and weeks. Still I think this collaboration/featuring is one of the best ones I've heard in K-pop, because they are telling a story with the lyrics from two different sides and the subject in question is both emotional and thought-provoking. Their voices also complement each other so well, and the video is just as professionally made with a plot-twist that will certainly leave you hanging.

TBT - Sistar's "So Cool"

Released: August 8, 2011

Oh, the days when Sistar and Brave Brothers collaborated on some of K-Pop's most iconic hits are still truly missed, as right now neither of them are doing particularly great individually. "So Cool" was one of this group's major breakout hits (the main one being "Alone", of course), and despite the intro being a bit cheesy the rest of the song is awfully catchy. The video too is a treat that should not be missed, and seriously, how pretty is Soyou in it?

TBT - Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry"

Super Junior celebrates their tenth anniversary this year, which is crazy, and thus I decided to feature this classic K-pop hit. "Sorry Sorry" was one of the many great singles released during the awesome year of 2009, and it was the one that really made them the big name they are today. I personally think the song is extremely catchy still to this day and the choreography is just iconic.

TBT - B1A4's "O.K"

Released: April 20, 2011

B1A4's debut is actually one of my favorites, at least on the boy side, and the image that they had back then (and partly have nowadays too, but more grown-up) was quite unique at the time of their first MV. They came onto the scene with a bright, fresh and boyish style and a upbeat pop-rock track to boot. I still think this track is pretty great, but I'm happy they grew out of those ridiculous outfits.

TBT - SHINee's "Lucifer"

Released: July 19, 2010

I can't believe it's been five years since this masterpiece was released. "Lucifer" was one of the first SHINee videos I watched and at the time it completely blew me away. The song was awesome, the members looked extremely attractive despite the questionable styling and let's not even get started on the choreography. This MV certainly holds a special place in my heart.

TBT - Miss A's "Bad Girl, Good Girl"

Released: June 30, 2010

This debut song by Miss A is still one of their strongest releases ever, and they've been around for five years now so that says a lot. "Bad Girl, Good Girl" was an instant hit in South Korea when it came out, and made Miss A win their first music show award only 22 days after it was released and their record still stands to this day. The song itself is magnificent and embodies everything Miss A stands for: femininity, power and confidence.

TBT - Bang Yongguk's "I Remember" (ft. Beast's Yoseob)

Released: August 11, 2011

Before there was B.A.P there was Bang Yongguk, who started out as a underground rapper with plenty material of his own. This song and video was released by TS Entertainment, who the group now as returned to after the filing a lawsuit against said company, as a way of promoting him before the debut of his group. Anyhow, the song's amazing and wonderful and the MV is quite an emotional experience. I also have to say that I love Yoseob's vocals on it, as his lighter voice contrasts Yongguk's darker one perfectly.
