I realize now that this post is kind of late, again, but as you've noticed with my sudden lack of posting I've been incredibly busy now that school has started again. I'm currently attending my first year in university and my schedule has been packed from morning to evening basically every day since it started, so that's the reason for my absence. It will probably continue in that matter for a couple of more weeks, so please be understanding and anticipate my eventual comeback!

Anyhow, starting this post off is two of my favorite Got7 boys, Youngjae and Jinyoung, for Sure.

Welcome everyone! Summer is finally here and what better way to celebrate than to enjoy these lovely and summery June pictorials with all our favorite singers and actors. Got7's visual couple Mark and Junior team up with Céci for this colorful shoot above.

Early Summer Soloists: Nam Woohyun, Jonghyun And Luna

Solos for everyone! Hooray! These past two months two very awaited idol group members have been making their solo debuts, and one has been following up his successful one from last year with a first comeback. Yes, I'm talking about Nam Woohyun, Jonghyun and Luna. All of them are great vocalists but have very different styles and images, and all of them are people I truly respect and admire. Jonghyun is as mentioned currently promoting his first full album "She Is", Nam Woohyun has been blowing everyone away with his vocals in "Still I Remember" and Luna is getting to show off just talented she is with "Free Somebody". Three very different artists with different sounds but all of them great in their own special way.

Jonghyun's Hair Is Dark(er) Again And I'm Probably More Excited About That Than I Should Be

YES. That's literally all I have to say about this. I loved his silver hair initially but it needed to go, and this kind of light ash brown color suits him like crazy. I may be falling back in love with him all over again. He's currently holding multiple solo concerts to promote his entirely self-composed compilation album "Story Op.1", and today he showed up with a new hair color, looking happier and healthier than ever. I haven't been talking much about his new album because while I do adore him to bits, I don't feel the same way about his music. It doesn't matter much though because as long as he does what makes him happy I'm happy too.

Seriously, what would us international K-pop fans be if we didn't have video platforms to watch cute clips, funny variety shows or amazing performances? Probably nothing. Thanks to all the brilliant, hardworking sub-teams out there, we get to understand what they're saying most of the time too.

Jonghyun on Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook

YHY's Sketchbook is honestly one of my favorite programs, as it regularly puts some well-deserved spotlight on South Korea's music scene, and not only idols. I've discovered plenty of amazing singers, rappers and groups thanks to this show, and I also happen to love Yoo Hee Yeol himself and his charming way of hosting.

Freshly debuted solo artist Jonghyun visited the show on his own for the very first time, and performed not only his title track "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)" but also a shorter version of SHINee hit "Juliette". He also gave a great interview, talking about the process of writing song and his musical influences among many other subjects.

 My main reason for showing this clip though, is his live singing and performing. This version of the title track featuring the new love of my life Iron, was lifted to a much higher level than I've ever witnessed before. The live music added a well-needed push to the otherwise somewhat weak instrumental, and the clear sound system gave Jonghyun a chance to show everyone what he's made of. All in all, it was a stunning performance

Jonghyun Shows His Colors in "Base"

I suppose there isn't much of a need to do an introduction here, keeping my previous rant in mind, but I do feel the need to express how happy I am about this whenever there's an opportunity. Jonghyun is such a multi-talented artist, and his passion for music is one that not too many idols can compete with, even those who are involved with their group's music. If there's one person in SHINee that I always wanted to go solo, it's him, just because I know how much he wants to do his own thing. Now it's finally here, the mini-album we've all been waiting for. I do find the title a bit funny, especially considering the name of fellow member Taemin's album, and it has sparked some funny ideas about what the rest of the group's solo albums would be called.

Jonghyun's personal style has always been slightly different from what his group's musical identity is, or more like a lot different. In this album, you can hear loud and clear what kind of sound he's going for, but if you are a die-hard blinger like me it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Jonghyun's Solo Debut Post Coming Through!

Well well, who do we have here if not another SM solo project? I'm honestly not complaining even a tiny bit about some of my favorites getting some time alone in the spotlight, but I do think there needs to be a limit somewhere. It feels like literally everyone everywhere is getting a solo these days, and not only SM idols. CNBlue's Yonghwa and Teen Top's Niel are scheduled for solo debuts, as well as Crayon Pop's Soyul. It has become a trend, just like with sub-units a few years back, and that means I'm pretty much jumping ship because nothing kills it for me more than than that kind of hype. If everyone's doing it, it means that it's not really coming from a place of genuineness but rather just from jumping on the bandwagon.

Also, far from everyone has the capacity of standing on their own as a solo artist. If you've always been with your group and learned how to work together in a team, facing promotions all by yourself is a challenge not many will pull off as good as they might have if with their group mates. SHINee's Taemin went solo back in August, and managed to do a fairly good job, but that was mostly because of his phenomenal skills as a dancer and improved singer. When I heard that my darling Jonghyun would be next in line though, I felt nothing but joy and anticipation. I personally find him the most well-rounded in the group, as well as having an amazing presence on stage and a burning passion for composing and performing.
