TBT - Girls' Generation's "Gee"
Released: June 8, 2009
You honestly didn't think I was going to introduce this segment without featuring arguably one of the most iconic K-pop songs of all time. "Gee" was a game-changer for sure, shooting Girls' Generation right up to the top and keeping them there until this very day. "Gee" was also one of the first K-pop videos I ever watched, and no matter how many times I hear the song I never get tired of it. It's just that good.
Glorious Photoshoots - July Round-Up
One of the prettiest people in K-pop; Goo Hara, looks amazing as she shoots for Cosmopolitan on an equally gorgeous beach.

Infinite Shares A Piece Of Their Brilliant "Reality"
Oh, Infinite. How I've missed you. Although they've had a few misses here and there, Infinite's discography consists mainly of hits and for that I'm forever grateful. Last year's "Season 2" was a solid effort, but it didn't manage in winning me over completely. Too many of the songs felt regressive rather than progressive, and overall I felt like they could have done better. When I first listened to their new mini album "Reality" I was giddy with excitement over how good it was and I thought to myself: "I was right, they could do much better".

Summer, Love And Baking In Goo Hara's "Choco Chip Cookies"
Not going to lie, this review is not only a review but also an excuse to post pretty pictures of Goo Hara, who recently broke away from Kara (temporarily, of course) to go on a solo adventure. I've always liked Hara, like before I even knew who she was. I remember watching a clip from SBS' popular talk-show "Strong Heart" with her in it, and although I had no idea who she was I thought she was the prettiest girl I've ever seen. That's always been Hara's thing, her unique, gorgeous looks and cute yet spunky personality, and while she's a fairly competent dancer her vocals skills are nothing to brag about. With that in mind I had a hard time imagining her as a solo artist, but her debut "Choco Chip Cookies" featuring Giriboy has proven me wrong.

Girl's Day's "Ring My Bell" Is The Worst Comeback Of The Summer, So Far
What. WHAT. WHAT?
I'm sorry but what happened to Girl's Day, the group that used to make painfully catchy tunes with equally intriguing choreographies? I was so looking forward to this comeback, especially considering the teaser pictures of the girls dressed as famous western stars, and this is what they've decided to drop? I almost didn't want to review this because of how horrified I was when I first watched it, but I honestly have so much to say about "Ring My Bell"

The Day To End All Days - Jung Yunho Is Enlisting
The day has come and I am weeping uncontrollably. Jung Yunho, TVXQ's selfless leader and my ultimate bias is enlisting in the military today, July 21st. It's also coincidentally the day of my sister's birthday so I'm feeling both happy and sad at the same time.
Ever since I entered the world of K-pop I've been a fan of this handsome man, so much I even call him my ultimate bias. I have a few of those, yes, but he's definitely the ultimate bias. It always makes me sad to know we will never meet, because he's definitely the kind of guy I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Yeah, that's how stuck I am. Naturally it's very sad for me to see him gone for two years now, but I know that time flies and he'll be back before we know it. Still, my heart breaks a little thinking about it.
Be safe Yunho, and come back healthier and happier than ever before. We love you!

Song of the Week #43
Nell - Run
I had somehow missed that Nell featured on the OST for drama "Two Weeks" (probably because I didn't watch it, but still) so when I was watching their live show "Nell's Room 2013" and it came on I was surprised in the best way possible. This song is so typically Nell in every sense of the word, and I love it.

It's Not A "Party" With SNSD Newest
The time has finally come; An official Korean Girls' Generation comeback without Jessica. Let me be straight with you here; I'm still kind of bitter about her not being there. I don't know quite how because she wasn't my favorite when she was in the group, but not after she's gone I've come to realize I really like her and I feel a bit sad about her absence. For that reason alone I was sure very skeptical about their comeback this summer, and turns out I had reason to be.

"S/S Edition" Is Classic Nine Muses At It's Best
Nine Muses has a history of having excellent title tracks and high-quality albums, which was why I was slightly disappointed by the less-than-stellar "Drama" comeback earlier this year. Not that it wasn't good, but because they have done so much better in the past. I was worried that this group was on the decline, especially after having changed members again, but then they came back again with "S/S Edition" and I was proven entirely wrong.

Nugu Boy Group Combined Comeback Post Part 2 (Speed, Boys Republic, High4)
As promised, here is the next part of my two-part nugu boy groups comeback review, featuring Speed, Boys Republic and High4. Out of these three groups the only one I've ever written about before is High4 when they had their comeback in January with "Day By Day", and although I was left with a good impression I wasn't 100% satisfied. The other two are completely unknown to me, and although both of them have been around a while they never sparked my interest before.

AOA's New Mini "Heart Attack" Is A Surprise Treat
AOA has slowly been climbing up my bias list for some time now, and I thought it was about time that they got a proper review of one of their mini albums.
I suppose my affection for them officially started with the release of "Short Hair" last spring, because it was at that time where I truly fell for the group. However it was with their most previous comeback last year, "Like A Cat", that I realized that they actually have some decent songs as well. My love remained as such when they came back with "Heart Attack" only a month ago, and when I listened to the mini album I was actually quite taken back by how solid it was.

Video of the Week #9
TVXQ's Changmin Ft. Exo's Chen And Super Junior's Kyuhyun - "Bolero"
Recently performed at SMTOWN in Tokyo, this trio of great vocalist manage to achieve something wonderful: a good cover of a song difficult covering. I personally love "Bolero" to the moon and back and while nothing, EVER can beat the original version performed by the original five members, this rendition is beautiful.
Chen sounds like an angel as usual, Kyuhyun keeps reminding me why he's one of my favorite vocalists period and Changmin impresses me tremendously. While I usally find his voice a bit harsh to listen to (because of the tone, not his technique), he is actually by far my favorite in this performance. Not only does his voice sound fantastic but the passion and emotion he puts into his singing is remarkable.

Completely In Love With Nine Muses' "Hurt Locker"
I'm a massive Nine Muses fan and have been ever since their 2013 comeback with "Wild", and although the member lineup is constantly changing my love for this group remains as strong. It does help that my bias members Kyungri, Erin and Hyunah are still around though. Anyhow I wasn't a huge fan of their comeback earlier this year, and although it wasn't bad it wasn't as good as I knew they could be. Now they're making a summer comeback and are looking hotter and sounding better than ever before.

JYPE's New Superstar Group Twice's Line-Up Is Revealed!
It's been a long time coming and I thought that it might never come to an end, but finally it's here. The moment we've all been waiting for has arrived at last, and with the release of the last episode of "Sixteen" the final line-up for JYP Entertainment's upcoming girl group is out in the open.

Girl Group Comebacks Of June: Mamamoo, Sistar & AOA
You know it's summer when all the girl groups come out to play. Not that I'm complaining though. My love for girls and groups composed of them reaches no limit, and in June alone there were three popular girl groups who made their comebacks: Mamamoo, Sistar and AOA. Since I nowadays work every weekday from 8 AM to 5 PM I've had little time to sit down and do a review on each and everyone of their comebacks, but I hope another one of these joint review posts isn't too disappointing. It saves me a lot of time and energy anyways!

Video of the Week #8
EXID's Solji performing "Maria" on "King of Masked Singer"
After being crowned the first winner on MBC's newest variety singing competition, EXID's main vocalist Solji has her celebration stage and shows off why she won the entire thing. Ever since I heard Exid's "Every Night" I've known that Solji's voice was something very special, and seeing her talents finally being recognized in this way makes me quite emotional. I was, just like fellow member Hani, sobbing along to this glorious performance.

SHINee Serves A Beautiful "View" For Latest MV
GUYS I know I'm late with this one, like embarrassingly late, but better late then never, right? To make it even more stressful I have about 10 other reviews to write because the summer comebacks are seriously taking over right now.
It's been over a month since SHINee released "View", and I knew when I watched it right away that it was a special comeback they were bringing this time around. Although I found their overall promotions to be a bit too short (shame on you SM) I still enjoyed every performance they put on.
